  • The application must be received in the church office on or before the first Monday of April. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered by the Scholarship Committee. 

  • A school transcript must be provided as part of the application.

  • A personal statement must be included as part of the application.

  • A letter of recommendation is required. Choose someone who knows you well and give them the appropriate page to complete and return to you as per instructions. Please refrain from asking the pastor, a family member or relative to complete the letter. 

  • All forms are to be submitted to the church office at office(at)firstlutheranlesueur(dot)org. 

  • All information will be kept confidential and will be used only by the Scholarship Committee.

Section Instructions: 

  • Online Application Includes:
    • Personal Data
    • Church, Community, and School Activities: List activities in which you have participated and/or volunteered during the past four years at any of the following: • First Lutheran Church or any other church  • Your community • Your school.  Indicate the approximate number of hours involved in each activity each year. Example: Sunday School Teacher - 45 hours/year, Food Shelf Volunteer - 12 hours/year, Teacher’s Assistant – 50 hours/year, Basketball – 4 years
    • Personal Statement: Address personal thoughts, concepts or ideas as they relate to how your Christian life will continue into your post-secondary education and beyond. (100-150 words)
    • School Transcript Upload: Upload a document up to 100 mb large.  Transcripts can also be emailed or provided as a print out to the church office.
    • Letter of Recommendation: Students – please provide the link (https://forms.gle/DmXTpeVT95qk8YZ4A) to this form to a person who knows you well. Ash Wednesday Worship

Ash Wednesday service will be on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:00pm with Holy Communion and Imposition of Ashes.
