Drive for Our Driveway

If you haven’t seen or heard, First Lutheran has been blessed with an anonymous $15,000 gift for capital improvements, contingent on a congregational match. We also were notified of an in-kind donation for labor and materials to address the needs of our church sidewalks.

Following notice of these gifts, the Property Team made a recommendation for a capital project to replace the drive and sidewalks. A special congregational meeting was held April 11th and a unanimous vote approved an amendment to the 2021 annual budget to allow for an expense of approximately $57,000 to cover costs for this project. When the total cost is broken down, it comes to about $100 per foot of pavement or concrete. In the end, not only will we have a fully repaired drive, we will also have new sidewalks; both of which are desperately needed. AMEN, HALLELUJIAH!

A “Drive for Our Driveway” team has been formed to work on the fundraising aspect. Leadership has already committed $8,500.00! Our collective goal is to not only attain the $15,000 match but to raise the full amount so we do not tap into any of our reserves.

Information and updates will be coming to you in many ways throughout the month of May. Watch for a mailing with your commitment card and stay tuned for all else that is to come. Please consider what you and your household can give to demonstrate to these two generous donors that their gifts are truly appreciated.

Glory be to God!
