Confirmation
G.I.G.G. (Growing in God's Grace) is the name of our confirmation program that involves sixth-, seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-grade students and their adult guides. G.I.G.G. meets on Wednesday evenings -- September to May -- from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families involved in GIGG take turns preparing a meal for students on lesson nights, serving from 5:50 p.m. to 6:25 p.m.
The G.I.G.G. lessons are based on curriculum developed by Rich Melheim and the Faith Inkubators. It includes a mixture of lessons, service projects, and fellowship events for the students and their guides.
A typical lesson night includes an "ice breaker" activity, followed by a lesson lead by the Pastor. After the lesson the students break into small groups with their guide. In the small groups they discuss topics ranging from that night's lesson, highs and lows of their week, to current issues. The evening concludes with a prayer.
Service projects and fellowship events also are scheduled in place of a lesson throughout the year.
